“School of Robotics” for teachers to open in Penza

“For educational purposes of teachers working with educational robotics kits, a 2016-2017 academic year plan was designed. According to the plan there will be held permanent seminars in the “School of Robotics.” Classes are scheduled for the last Thursday of the month,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Education told PenzaNews.
The Ministry clarified that two training sites will be organized in Penza – in Lyceum of modern management technologies No. 2 and the provincial lyceum for gifted children.
“A training site in Robotics already operates in Lyceum No. 73. Also the “Remote School of Robotics” lessons will be supplemented soon,” the press service added.
Currently, 65 kindergartens, 132 schools and supplementary educational organizations for children of the Penza region are equipped with robotic kits.
The Institute of regional development trained 461 teachers to work with educational robotics kit, 50 of them have a license of tutor for educational robotics. More than 100 teachers participated in training workshops and 60 - in master classes.
About 230 teachers use robotics kits in the classroom - 8 thousand children are engaged in the classes, 375 teachers use robotic kits in their extracurricular activities with 9 thousand children.
In 2016, 2.5 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget to purchase six kits for resource centers and participation of the Penza regional teams in the national competitions and regional qualifying competitions in robotics in December.
