Ekaterina Lebedyantseva becomes teacher of year in Penza

Penza, 30 March 2017. PenzaNews. The primary school teacher from Penza gymnasium No.13 Ekaterina Lebedyantseva became the winner of the All-Russian contest "Teacher of the Year – 2017", the results of which were summed up in the Yanichkin children’s art school on Thursday, March 30.

She was awarded with a diploma of the first degree, prize money amounting to 50,000 rubles, and different souvenirs.

The second place was occupied by the teacher of the Russian language and literature from school No.58 Alexander Danyuk, who received a money prize equal to 30,000 rubles.

A third degree diploma and a prize of 10,000 rubles was awarded to two teachers at once – the primary school teacher from lyceum No.2 Olga Pokolyavina and the teacher of physical education from school No.36 Galina Akimova.

Prizewinners of the contest: the primary school teacher Natalia Zakharova, Anna Eremina, and Oksana Gavrilenko, who work in schools No. 51 and 31, and gymnasium "SAN" correspondently, as well as the English teacher from school No. 77 Victoria Stepanyan were awarded with certificates of participation and souvenirs.

Each of eight participants of the contest final stage received a money prize from the professional union amounting to 5,000 rubles.

In addition, members of children jury and veterans of pedagogical work, who also evaluated the contestants, named their favourites. School pupils chose Oksana Gavrilenko as their favourite and presented her an award, while experienced teachers awarded Anna Eremina.

Turning to the participants, the mayor Victor Kuvaytsev said that the annual contest is a great event in the life of Penza.

"The reason for this, to begin with, is the fact that as a rule, 20% of the teachers always attend these events. It means that it is important for the city and that you value it. The importance of the contest is emphasized by the ability to spread modern innovative teaching approaches," the head of the city administration noted.

According to Victor Kuvaytsev, he was very glad that over 30 participants of the contests held in previous years occupy important positions nowadays.

After all prizewinners were awarded, the winner of the contest "Teacher of the Year – 2011", the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Yana Kuprina turning to Ekaterina Lebedyantseva asked the teacher to do her best while representing the Penza region at the Russian stage of the contest.
