Penza, 5 September 2017. PenzaNews. Fourteen areas of the region received 17 new school buses purchased at the expense of the Penza region budged.

The solemn ceremony of presenting the keys was held next to the stadium "Pervomaisky" in Penza on Tuesday, September 5.

Having a short talk with school principals and bus drivers, the governor Ivan Belozertsev turned to those present noting that the issues of children's life and health preservation should be given the most careful attention.

"In two or three days after official registration, the buses will start to transport children," he explained.

The governor expressed hope that the drivers would strictly comply with traffic regulations.

After the keys were handed, the Minister of Education of the Penza region Alexander Voronkov told journalists that altogether 25 school buses were planned to be replaced.

"It the Penza region, 306 comfortable and safe buses transport over 7,500 children, who do not have educational institutions in their settlements, to schools. [...] Last year, 89 buses were replaced," he explained.

The Minister specified that the new buses would replace those produced over 10 years ago.

"Everything goes according to plan. Each area receives new buses in accordance with the way their vehicles are used," he assured.
