Penza, 13 August 2018. PenzaNews. 13,254 first formers will go to school in the Penza region in the 2018-2019 school year. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Education.

The department added that altogether 125,977 children will go to school on Knowledge Day, and last year the number equalled 122,434 pupils.

"Traditionally, on this day members of the regional government, heads of ministries and departments, heads of administrations of municipalities, honorary citizens, directors of industrial enterprises, representatives of the business community and alumni that achieved considerable success in life will visit the schools and talk with pupils at introductory lessons," the ministry explained.

The press service specified that the main topic of discussion will be the history of the Penza region.

"In addition, on this day all pupils of 2-5 forms will receive school record books from the Penza region," the press service noted.
