According to presented figures, starting from 1 July 2016, Penza citizens will be paying 3.13 rubles per kWph, compared to 3.67 in Samara, 3.41 in Ulyanovsk, 3.25 in Saransk and 3.19 in Saratov.

At the same time, the natural gas in the Penza region will cost 5.217 rubles per cubic meter starting from July 1, which is 1.7 times lower than in the nearby Saratov region (8.66 rubles).

Overall, the new tariffs remained under the average in the Volga Federal District, even though they grew compared to 2015.

In particular, the region increased its power bill costs by 7.2% and natural gas bills by 2.6% compared to the first half of the year.

The maximum bill increase index was set by the Russian government at 5.9% for the Penza region, with a maximum deviation of 2.5%.

“The outlined increase is at the maximum, and this does not mean that all bills will increase by 8%,” the head of the department Natalya Klak commented on the news.

The Penza region Department of Tariff Regulation and Energy Preservation opened a hotline for citizens’ rights over the communal bills for the new tariffs at +7 (8412) 92-09-01.
