Mayor's office: About 20,000 people took part in a city community work day in Penza

Penza, 15 October 2017. PenzaNews. About 20,000 people took part in the city community work day that was held in Penza on October 14. This was reported on the website of the mayor's office.

According to the city administration, in the Zheleznodorozhny area the activities aimed at cleaning and improvement of territories united over 5,000 people, in the Oktyabrsky area – ab out 6,000, in the Leninsky and Pervomaisky areas – about 4,000 people each.
Within the city community work day, about 1,200 trees were planted, almost 110,000 square metres of urban area including parks and public gardens were cleaned from garbage.
As previously reported by PenzaNews, one of the campaigns was held in Zarya neighbourhood, where 65 lime trees, 15 birch trees, and 24 rowan trees were planted. Penza mayor Victor Kuvaytsev took part in the campaign.
