Strong rain, which sometimes turned into ice rain, fell upon the region on Sunday, February 4, and by the beginning of the work week the situation had worsened.

Residents of some districts of Penza noted unsatisfactory work of street cleaners. Territories near block of flats became barely passable.

A mixture of melting snow and dirt was not removed from yard territories in time.

Penza residents also noted a bad work of communal service in the city centre. In particular, the territory near the building of the Penza region government got covered with water.

Difficult conditions were also on roads. Typical Monday morning traffic jams were supplemented with jams caused by flood of the road.

Thus, vehicles could not drive along a street near gymnasium No.13 in Ternopolskaya street, which turned into a river for some time.

Traffic jams also emerged at slopes, where the situation was especially difficult for truck drivers, on bridges and overpasses.

At the same time, on Tuesday, January 30, the governor Ivan Belozertsev signed an order to introduce a high alert regime in the Penza region due to unfavourable weather conditions forecasted.
