Penza, 30 March 2018. PenzaNews. The only solid waste landfill located near the village of Chemodanovka is 80% full. This was reported by head of the city department of communal services Andrei Grishin at the 43rd regular session of the City Duma on Friday, March 30.

He also explained that the power to determine a general contractor that will be engaged in the construction of a new landfill was given to regional authorities.

According to him, it is planned that an authorized organization will be chosen and the works will start in 2018.

"Until that time we are ready to dispose waste at the existing landfill in Chemodanovka," Andrei Grishin said.

As it was reported before, in October 2017 Penza mayor Victor Kuvaytsev suggested that the waste landfill near Chemodanovka could be used another 3-4 years.

According to him, the object's proximity to a settlement does not mean its use in the future.
