Penza, 3 April 2018. PenzaNews. All possible resources were mobilized in Penza to deal with local flooding that is observed in different parts of the city as a result of an active thawing of snow. This was reported by the mayor Victor Kuvaytsev.

According to him, along with municipal enterprises the organizations that provided equipment as well as bodies of the EMERCOM of Russia and paving companies also contributed to the work.

"This includes not only water drainage. Currently, pumping out water from the road network we are trying [...] to restore the roadbed where it has dangerous destructions. There are several teams dealing with the issue," the head of the city administration explained.

He noted that the pothole repair, which was then carried out, was a temporary measure to ensure a proper condition of roads.

Victor Kuvaytsev also expressed gratitude to the people who were working in difficult conditions around the clock.

"We expect the rainfall," he said adding that it would be another challenge for utilities.

The mayor expressed confidence that together they would be able to cope with the difficult situation. According to him, most residents and business representatives understand that "it is their city and everyone should clean and improve it".
