Penza, 21 July 2018. PenzaNews. Utilities, workers of the administration of the Leninsky district of Penza, city departments and subordinate agencies conducted a Saturday community workday removing rubbish from the Sura riverbed near the monument Rostok on July 21.

They raked algae out from the water, removed bottles and other litter including a large log. To conduct the work boats were used.

Commenting on the event on improvement, mayor Victor Kuvaytsev reminded of the fact that it had been planned to clean the bottom of the Sura river from litter, which was visible in shallow areas.

"Unfortunately, today the water level rose that is why we will carry out the planned activities on another day, most likely next Saturday. Now we are going to remove rubbish from the surface," he said.

The head of the administration added that on Tuesday, July 24, the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Penza is going to organize cleaning of the opposite side of the river, the press service of the city hall informs.
