Penza mayor demands that sidewalks cleaned

Penza, 7 February 2019. PenzaNews. Head of the Penza administration Victor Kuvaytsev demanded that municipal unitary enterprise Penzadormost should promptly clean sidewalks after the snowfall that struck the city in the first half of Thursday, February 7.

"The snowfall has stopped but the sidewalks are hidden under snow. Only paths can be seen. Do not postpone this work for the night shift, direct your forces at it now," he said turning to responsible persons during a city inspection.

Commenting on the fact that snow began to melt in some areas, the mayor instructed employees of the city Department for Civil Defence and Emergency Situations to make sure that cleaning of storm water inlets was carried out in a timely manner.

According to director of Penzadormost Yuri Parastaev, over 8,500 cubic metres of snow had been removed from the streets of the city over the past day. There were 95 special vehicles involved during the first shift and 105 – during the second, the press service of the city hall informs.
