"Currently, 1,580 storm drainage grates are open. There are 1,840 of them in the city," he said at the meeting of the interdepartmental flood commission held at the Communal Affairs and Civil Protection Department of the Penza region on Thursday, March 14.

According to Yuri Parastaev, at positive temperature, forces are directed at opening the grates and pumping water from where its disposal is provided.

"We have six units of equipment that pump out water, two excavators and loaders for opening the grates are involved. This is only in our company," the head of the municipal unitary enterprise said.
