Yuri Ilyin urges rational approach to removal of snow from Penza streets

"We do not aim at using all the money allocated for snow removal We must deal with immediate issues in the first place because the money can be used for other activities aimed at city improvement, for example for the development of the road network, or improvement of area administrations," he said at the meeting in the city administration on Wednesday, March 20.
The deputy mayor suggested that a list of priority activities had to be compiled including those involving central streets of Penza, where large snowdrifts had been formed, which would not melt for a long time, and those areas where a large accumulation of snow threatens the safety of roads.
"It is necessary to determine the places where local flooding can occur, where we still have a large amount of snow, and not focus on the main streets, where the lawn is already visible in some areas of the city," he added.
