A 500 mm diameter section of a heating main was replaced in Austrina Street in Penza, where the day before a car had fallen into a pit with hot water resulting in the death of two people. This was announced by deputy chairman of the Penza region government Dmitry Semenov.

"11 meters of the pipeline was replaced," he said at a meeting at the regional government on November 20, when no mass media was allowed.
According to Dmitry Semenov, in general, the pipe is in a normal condition and the thickness of its walls reaches about 4 mm.
"But the section that was broken is in a very poor state, it is decrepit, and the residual thickness of the wall makes up about 2 mm," the deputy chairman of the regional government said.
