More than 50 officials corruptionists were condemned during the first half of this year in the Penza region

Penza, 22 July 2011. PenzaNews. Courts of the Penza region adjudged 51 officials for fulfillment of corruption crimes in the first half of 2011.

Tatyana Ostrovskaya, the senior assistant of the public prosecutor of the Penza region said: "There were 17 sentences for getting bribes, 5 sentences for swindle with the use of office position,3 cases of abusing office powers, 3 sentences for assignment and waste of money resources, 4 ones — for office forgery, one for commercial payoff one, two —  for abusing powers, 16 persons are condemned for bribery to officials".

According to Tatyana Ostrovskaya, one head of the local government, one head of administration of the village council and one worker of city administration of Penza are convicted for corruption crimes.

Tatyana Ostrovsky said: "In the first half of 2011 twelve law enforcement officers also are convicted for corruption crimes. 3 teachers of higher educational institutions and 7 medical workers were convicted. Punishment in the form of real imprisonment is given to 6 persons".
