Penza, 2 August 2011. PenzaNews. 36 statements of claim about compulsion of the activity of organization and carrying out of gambling were directed to the courts by departments of Office of Public Prosecutor of the Penza region in 2011. More than 1 thousand units of the game equipment were withdrawn. 100 gambling enterprises stopped their activity in connection with the measures of public prosecutor's reaction.

Tatyana Ostrovskaya, the senior assistant to the public prosecutor of the Penza region said: "By the results of checks made by public prosecutors concerning official and the legal bodies, 25 administrative cases on various articles of the Code of the Russian Federation about administrative offenses on which 6 gambling institutions stopped their activity, 370 thousand rubles penalties were imposed".

She also said that the changes providing responsibility directly for the organization and carrying out of gambling out of a gambling zone were made in July, 2011 and that will allow to carry out  further struggle against illegal gambling activity successfully.
