Mokshan, 30 August 2011. PenzaNews. Criminal case according to part 1 item 243 of the criminal code of Russian Federation "Destruction or damage of the historical or cultural monuments" was initiated in Mokshansky area on the initiative of Office of Public Prosecutor of the Penza region.

Tatyana Ostrovskaya, the senior assistant to the public prosecutor of the Penza region, said: "Earlier when the inspection was carried out, it was established that 10 meters of the abatis bank near the railway station Pjasha was destroyed. It was the federal monument of archeology. The inspection was carried out and the department of the Internal Affairs in Mokshansky area decided to refuse in excitation of the criminal case because there wasn't any crime event".

She said that subsequently the given decision was repeatedly cancelled by the regional Office of Public Prosecutor because it was premature and unreasonable one.

She said: "Criminal case upon destruction of the historical monument was initiated on August, 25th. Now it is at the stage of investigations".
