Penza, 16 September 2011. PenzaNews. Criminal case upon lost of two passengers of a line taxi as a result of road accident which happened in Penza on Wednesday, September, 14th was initiated according to part 5 article 264 of the criminal code of Russian Federation "Infringement of traffic regulations and operation of vehicles". The deputy chief of special investigatory department of investigation of the road accidents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region Vladimir Harkov informed about it.

He said: "The forensic medical examination of blood of the driver of the car "LADA Priora" which made collision with a line is appointed as a part of investigations of the criminal case. If it will be established that the driver was in alcohol intoxication or under the influence of narcotics, the criminal case will be retrained on part 6 article 264 of the criminal code of Russian Federation".

Vladimir Harkov said: "If the fault of the driver of the car is proved, according item 5 of the article 264 of the criminal code of Russian Federation he will get 7 years of imprisonment and if it is according to part 6 of the article, he will get up to 9 years of imprisonment".

According to him the driver of "LADA Priora" is the resident of Penza, 1980 year of birth.

Vladimir Harkov said: "Now the driver is in reanimation and his condition is critical. We believe that next week we will be able to carry the first interrogation with him. For the middle of day of Friday, on September, 16th, two passengers of the line taxi were not interrogated."

"There are two victims in the hospital and also the driver of the line taxi and the driver of "Lada Priora".

Vladimir Harkov informed that the videorecording of collision of the cars was withdrawn.
He said: "Videorecording was made by the camera of external supervision which is located on the building of the branch of "Sberank of Russia" in Pobeda Prospekt. The given videorecording was withdrawn and analyzed. The motor vehicle "GAZ" was coming to the bus stop and the driver of "Priora" at great speed made collision with the line taxi which ran into a column and lit up".

As he said, now it is appointed fire-technical expert appraisal who should answer the question about car ignition.

He said: "One of the reasons of ignition of "GAZ" is fuel ignition of gas and petrol. Presumably, two victims sat near the back doors of minibus where the bottom gas bags is located".

Vladimir Harkov confirmed also that relatives identified the 25-year-old woman and the one-year-old child.

Victims' names are not disclosed for ethical reasons.
