For two hours almost 140 drivers got penalty for excess of high-speed mode

Penza, 16 September 2011. PenzaNews. For two hours 139 drivers were fined by employees of traffic police of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region as a part of preventive action "Speed" on Friday, September, 16th.

Vitaly Ivanov, senior state car inspector of the department of traffic police of the Russian Federation in the Penza region: "In total for two hours the employees of traffic police revealed more than 200 infringements of traffic regulations. 139 administrative reports for excess of a high-speed mode were made during two hours. One driver was in alcohol intoxication. His driver's license was withdrawn. Another driver was driving without license. Besides, ten drivers were fined for driving under forbidding signal of traffic light".

He said that the preventive action was planned and it is connected with the tragedy with a line taxi which happened in Pobeda Prospekt in Penza on Wednesday, September, 14th where two passengers of the line taxi were lost.

According to Vitaly Ivanov in course of preventive action "Tonic" which was held the day before special attention was given to the drivers using tinting coating on front and forward lateral glasses of motor vehicles.

He said: "115 reports of administrative offense were made during three hours. Police requirements about elimination of the revealed infringements were given to all drivers. In case the driver will not fulfill the given requirement administrative case will be sent to the court which can appoint punishment in the form of the penalty of 1000 rubles or arrest for 15 days".
