Penza, 1 November 2011. PenzaNews. Nizhnelomovsky district court of the Penza region passed a sentence on the chairman and five members of territorial election committee concerning falsification of voting results of occasional elections of the deputy of meeting of representatives in Nizhny Lomov.

The press-service of the judicial department said: “These citizens were convicted for falsification of signatures of voters in lists of voters, obviously wrong counting of votes, obviously incorrect (not corresponding to the valid results of voting) drawing up of the report on voting results, obviously wrong establishment of results of voting and definition of results of elections. The chairman of the commission was also convicted for instigation and complicity in commission of crime”.

They wanted to show high attendance of the elections and the committee-men together with the chairman filled unused bulletins and made falsification of signatures of the voters who didn’t take part in the elections.

The press-service said: “Thus all members of local election committee knew obviously that the documents contained doubtful data on results of voting”.

Having taken into consideration all circumstances of the case, the court appointed punishment in the form of 1 year of 6 months of imprisonment conditionally with a trial period of 2 years for the chairman of territorial election committee and the committee-men got the penalty.
