Issa, 6 December 2011. PenzaNews. The Office of the Public Prosecutor criminal case on charge of the local resident in causing on imprudence of death to the baby was sent to the Issinsky district court of the Penza region.

Tatyana Ostrovskaya informed the news agency PenzaNews the senior assistant of the public prosecutor of the Penza region said: “It is established that the woman, being in alcohol intoxication put the baby on the bed and then lay down near the girl. Having shown criminal negligence, she didn’t consider her condition and the constrained conditions in one bed with the child. As a result, having pulled hard in the weight on the daughter, mother crushed her baby”.

According to her, the death of the child was because of mechanical asphyxia due to compression of the thorax and stomach.

She said: “The actions of the woman led to death but imprudence, that is a crime provided part 1 article 109 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of this article provides punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for the term up to 2 years or imprisonment for the same term”.

She admitted that the measure and punishment will be defined by Issinsky district court.
