Penza, 16 December 2011. PenzaNews. Five residents of Moscow, Moscow region, Saint-Petersburg and a native of Azerbaidzhan were convicted by Spassky district court for swindle the multiple acts of fraud in large and huge amounts.

The press-service of Penza regional court said: “Three of accused served a sentence in a colony in the Komi Republic. They need money and decided to commit illegal enrichment. The criminals called the victims’ home phones, indroduced themselves as their relatives, who had a road accident with lethal outcome. Then, supposedly a criminal investigator phoned them back and proposed to transfer money to avoid criminal responcibility”.

7 citizens of Spassk, Serdobsk, Kamenka and Narovcha areas of the Penza region were cheated according to the same scheme and transferred 910 thousand rubles to the swindlers.

The press-service said: “Two members of the group, who were at large, received money in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg and sent it to Syktyvkar. Only one of seven crimes wasn’t fulfilled, because of the incorrect passport data in the transfer”.

During the court sessions two members of the criminal group admitted their guilt completely, the rest of them admitted it partially.

The press-service said: “Four members of the group got from 3.5 to 16.5 years of strict regime penal colony imprisonment. Another criminal, who was convicted for the first time got 2 years and 6 months of general regime penal colony imprisonment. The convicts will also have to reimburse the financial losses to the victims”.

The sentence was proclaimed on the 15th of December and hasn’t come into legal force yet.
