Penza, 21 December 2011. PenzaNews. 1.667 road accidents were recorded on the territory of the Penza Region during 11 months of 2011. This is 14 % less than during the same period of the previous year.

On Tuesday, December, 21th during the meeting of inter-departmental committee of traffic regulations the deputy chairman of the government of the Penza region Sergey Zlatogorsky said: “Meanwhile the accident rates are increasing in Kuznetsk, Bashmakovsky, Kuznetsky, Lopatinsky, Nikolsky, Penzensky, Sosnovoborsky districts”.

According to Sergey Zlatogorsky, special attention should be paid to organization of the traffic according to the weather conditions into account.

The press service of the regional government quoted the deputy governor: “It is another case. We need all the villages to be accessible by road during New Year holidays. The situation in Penza is not less complicated. Constructions, weather, amount of cars contribute to more traffic accidents. Systemic measures and correspondent recommendations are required. The city administration and public utilities should work out jointly real moves to change the situation”.
