Penza, 14 January 2012. PenzaNews. The murder of spouses entrepreneurs is under investigation in the Penza region. Officials of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Penza region are looking into reasons and circumstances of the murder of spouses entrepreneurs whose bodies were discovered at their private home in Nizhny Lomov on the morning of Saturday, January 13.

Acting Senior Media Relations Assistant to the Head of the Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Penza region Mariya Orlova said in a statement to news agency “PenzaNews, “Numerous cuts and stabs were found on the spouses’ bodies. According to preliminary data, the deaths of a 62-year-old man and 61-year-old woman were caused by excessive loss of blood as a result of injuries to the neck vessels.”

She noted that a special investigative task force comprising officials of the Investigative Committee and police operatives had been created to investigate this criminal case.

“A criminal case to investigate this matter was initiated under Article 105, para. 2(a), of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder of two or more persons”. Investigative actions and operative crime detection activities are currently undertaken to identify persons involved in the commission of this crime. Circumstances of the case and reasons for the commission of the murder are also investigated,” added the spokesperson.
