Hockey player injured in Penza in extremely grave condition, head physician of hospital

Penza, 14 February 2012. PenzaNews. The head physician of MUZ “City clinical hospital of the first help named after G.A. Zaharin” Vyacheslav Kosmachev commented on health of 16-year-old player of an ice-hockey team “Olympia” from Kirovo-Chepetsk Maxim Koposov who was injured during a game in Penza. “The boy is in extremely grave condition. Now doctors resuscitators-anesthesiologists use the best efforts to save his life,” said Vyacheslav Kosmachev.

He added that the diagnosis made to the young hockey player is medical secret and can not be divulged without the consent of the patient or his legal representatives.
Maxim Koposov’s parents who are in Penza now, refuse to comment on the situation.
As it was reported earlier, incident happened in Penza on previous Saturday, however public resonance was only on Monday, February 13.
According to eyewitnesses, he was hurt by a puck, he didn’t manage to reach substitutes' bench and feel on ice having heart failure.
According to sport center administration, there weren’t any signs of trauma on player’s body.
According to the preliminary information, only one medical specialist was on duty that day in the sport center, first aid brigade arrived to sport center when the hockey player was in a clod.
On Monday, February 13, investigating bodies of Investigatory committee of the Russian Federation for the Penza region started investigation of the case of player’s heart failure during the game.
