Penza, 20 February 2012. PenzaNews. Gorodishchensky district court of the Penza region delivered a guilty verdict to the local resident for money extortion under the threat of violence.

“The court established that, being at home, the woman by means of mobile phone sent SMS to two citizens with the requirement to transfer of 1 thousand roubles to her subscriber phone number, threatening them and members of their family with murder and physical injuries. Citizens took those threats seriously. Being feared for their life and also for life and health of members of the family, one of them transferred money resources,” said in the court press-service.

The defendant recognized the fault completely, promoted crime investigation, indemnified property loss voluntary and didn’t face administrative and criminal responsibility before.

“The court took into consideration all circumstances of this case. The woman got 1.5 year imprisonment conditionally with 1 year trial period,” the court explained.
