Penza, 22 March 2012. PenzaNews. 25-year-old driver of the Lada Priora car who brought down on March 20 the eleven-year boy at an adjustable crosswalk in Vosmoye Marta street in Penza, was judged earlier according to Art. 228 of the criminal code of Russian Federation "Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacturing, processing of drugs" and sentenced to two years of imprisonment. The deputy head of department of the government of the Penza region on prevention of offenses and interaction with law enforcement agencies and realization of domestic policy Zyakizhan Kuryaev reported about it during working meeting on breakdown rate questions on roads to Thursday, March 22.

The head of department of traffic police of Interior Ministry of Russian Federation for the Penza region Sergey Buylov noted that the young man 53 times was involved in administrative responsibility for traffic violations of the rules, the majority from which were connected with an excess of a high-speed mode.

"After carrying out the corresponding examination it will be established, whether there was Priora’s driver at the moment of road accident in a state of intoxication," Sergey Buylov told.

Governor Vasily Bochkarev recommended the chief of regional government of traffic police to watch drivers who regularly break traffic regulations more carefully.

"The staff of traffic police is often afraid to punish drivers who possess communications in higher instances. For example, there was registration number "777" on "Priora". Most likely, many violations to the driver escaped punishment. We should break the stereotypes in society about impunity of so-called "criminal" drivers,” the head of the region emphasized.

The governor also declared that investigation of the road accident is under his personal control.
