Penza, 11 April 2012. PenzaNews. The peak of high water is expected in Penza within the next few two days on April 12 and 13. The head of department of civil defense and emergency situations of the city Nikolay Zavodovsky reported about this on Wednesday, April 11. "Now the situation on flooding of houses is under control, rescuers are on the watch in the strengthened mode round-the-clock," he declared.

According to Nikolay Zavodovskoy, the Tsigansky selllement is subject to flooding more than other areas in Penza, however the decision on population evacuation wasn't made even there.

"In other districts of Penza, such as Krivozerye, Nakhalovka and Sosnovka, small flooding of kitchen gardens can be seen at present. In some private households water accumulated in cellars and basements," the interlocutor of the agency added.

Nikolay Zavodovsky emphasized that despite expected slump of a high water in two or three days, rooms for evacuation of people from the underflood territories are completely prepared in sanatoriums, buildings of housing stock of administration of Penza, and also institutions of culture and education.

"Water level increase in the city is connected not only with snow melting, but with disorder of people: many ditches are hammered with garbage, and the pipes for plum of water from fields are filled up," he summarized.
