According to operational information of the regional office of housing and communal services on April 12 about 1.5 thousand residents of the Penza region living in 679 households, are in a flooding zone. "200 people are taken out from the places of residence and placed with relatives," reported the deputy head of department of housing and communal services of the Penza region Andrey Razhivin at the meeting devoted to measures for preparation for the admission of flood waters.

According to him, flooding of a part of territories of settlements and highways of local value is fixed in 32 settlements in 17 municipal areas of the region.

"In 20% of cases flooding is caused by surface melting snow because of lack of drainage system and a disorder of territories of private households and adjoining the farm places," Andrey Razhivin noted.

He reported that critical and high levels of river systems are fixed in Belinsky, Bessonovsky, Zemetchinsky, Issinsky, Kamensk, Kolyshleysky, Luninsky, Mokshansky, Nizhnelomovsky and Penza districts of the region.

"According to hydro posts, critical water levels and those which are close to them are reached on the rivers Atmis, Vysha and Khoper. In the south of the region the peak of a high water was passed on April 10. In the midland it is expected on April 12 or 13," summarized the deputy head of office of housing and communal services of the Penza region.
