Penza, 13 April 2012. PenzaNews. More than 4 thousand houses in 12 areas of the Penza region where 12 thousand people live in zone of flooding risk. “Now we approach to peak of a high water which is predicted for April 15. Rains that will give big inflow soon are expected, however, according to the measurements made on control points, in some places water recession to 10 cm is fixed” the chief of the Office of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation of the region Sergey Kozlov reported during an inspection of the flooded territories by governor Vasily Bochkarev on Friday, April 13.

According to him, now the most difficult situation is in Kamenka due to high water level in the river Atmis because of rain and warming 318 houses with 996 inhabitants were flooded there.

“156 people were evacuated to relatives and two persons temporarily stay in local school,” Sergey Kozlov noted.

He added that now flooding is fixed in Belinsky, Bessonovsky, Zemetchinsky, Issinsky, Mokshansky, Narovchatsky and Nizhnelomovsky areas.

“In other areas of the region there is local flooding because of snow melting. In settlements kitchen gardens and yards are flooded. There is also road cloth distraction,” chief of Office of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation for the Penza region summarized.
