Pavel Barabanshchikov, an activist of the regional office of the CPRF, who took part in one-person picket against municipal transport fare increase a few days ago, was beaten by a stranger on Thursday, May 3 in Penza. The first secretary of Penza regional committee of the party Georgy Kamnev reported about it in his Twitter microblog.

“They beat Pavel and broke his nose. He works as an assistant of the deputy, he is a law-abiding citizen and has never had any administrative and criminal punishments. He has no ties in the criminal world,” explained Georgy Kamnev.

He added that the activist filed a police report on his beating and had primary interrogation at the police office.
