10 people rescued from house fire in Zarechnaya street in Penza

Penza, 31 May 2012. PenzaNews. Penza firefighters rescued ten residents of house No. 1A in Zarechnaya street from fire which started in the early morning on Thursday, May 31. “It was reported that there was an ignition on the third floor of a three-storey brick apartment building at 6.06 am. The first and the third fire brigades’ staff as well as municipal firefighters arrived to the scene,” informed Timofey Nikulin, the head of the press service of Head Office of Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Penza region.

According to him, by the arrival of firefighters, wooden ceilings of the house had already burnt out and the fire had spread to the attic.

“Gas-smoke rescue service was working at the height of the blaze in the entrance hall of the building. The staff of municipal firefighting service was on the roof of the second entrance, where they were cutting off the fire not to let it extend,” reported the spokesman, having noted that the fire was completely put out in an hour after the ignition.

“Ten residents of the house, including elderly people were rescued from the fire. There are no victims,” Timofey Nikulin concluded.
