Resident of Zarechny convicted of shooting police officer

Zarechny, 5 June 2012. PenzaNews. Sergey Dolgov, a resident of Zarechny town, the Penza region, convicted of illegal possession of firearms and use of violence dangerous to life and health against a government representative on duty.
According to senior assistant of the prosecutor of the Penza region Julia Makarova, Police Department of Zarechny was reported that Sergey Dolgov was conflicting with his girlfriend in his apartment at night on March 3, 2012.
As directed by the duty officer, interrogation officer of Russian Interior Ministry in Zarechny Vladimir Kazakov together with the investigative team arrived to the apartment of Sergei Dolgov. In order to prevent the detection of illegally possessed firearms the man made three shots from a traumatic Wasp gun in the head and chest of a police officer, causing him bruised skin wound of neck and three abrasions of chest,” explained the agency interlocutor.
According to her, the gun was found in the apartment of Sergei Dolgov during a subsequent inspection of the scene.
“The man was sentenced to four years in prison in a correctional colony of general regime. The court ruled to collect 20 thousand rubles from the convicted in favor of the victim as compensation of moral harm the crime had caused,” Julia Makarova added.
