Penza, 9 June 2012. PenzaNews. The accident resulting in the death of a boy who was drowned in a pond took place near house No. 66 in Pushkari Street in Ternovka on Friday, June 8. This was announced by the head of the department for CI and ES of the city of Penza Nikolay Zavodovsky during a press conference on Saturday, June 9.

“A group of children came to the pond with a dangerous bank and apparently, they were playing there. The child could not swim. He fell down from a 3 meters cliff,” he explained.

Nikolay Zavodovsky stressed that the children lived far away from the scene and expressed surprise at how the 11-year-olds could be left without adult supervision so far from home.
