Kuznetsk, 20 June 2012. PenzaNews. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Penza region performs pre-investigation check on the death of a 4-year-old girl in a swimming pool located in a private household in the town of Kuznetsk.

“According to preliminary data, at about 20:40 Moscow Time, June 1, the girl was in the yard with her mother, who left her for a few minutes and went to the garden. When the woman returned, she saw her little daughter in the pool filled with water. Ambulance workers who immediately arrived at the scene tried to help the drowned child, but could not save the girl,” said Acting Senior Media Relations Assistant to the Head of the Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Penza region Mariya Orlova.

She noted that medicolegal investigation would be held to establish the cause of death of the deceased; the child’s upbringing and living environment are also investigated.

“The Investigative Department will take a procedural decision based on the inspection findings,” added the agency interlocutor.
