“In the early 2012, Federal Security Service of Russia obtained the information that the cases of synthetic heroin use were recorded in the Penza region. According to the experts, this drug is more addictive as it contains plant materials mixed with chemicals,” the press service of the regional department of Federal Security Service of Russia told news agency “PenzaNews.”

Following the operational-investigative means, two residents of Penza at the age of 30 and 38 have been identified and detained by the Federal Security Service officers.

“They intended to arrange another large shipment of synthetic heroin on 21 May 2012 but failed to complete this deal as they were caught red-handed,” noted the press service.

About 140 grams of hard drugs (about 2 thousand individual doses) were seized during the inspection.

“Investigation department of Federal Security Service of Russia for the Penza region initiated a criminal case on the grounds of an offense under Part 3 of Art. 228 “Preparation for illegal sale of narcotics on especially large scale.” Investigations proceeds,” the press service concluded.
