Penza region resident convicted for exceeding defense limits

Penza, 2 July 2012. PenzaNews. A resident of Kuznetskiy district of the Penza region Andrey Razin was found guilty of murder in the result of exceeding the limits of self-defense and deliberate destruction of another’s property by arson.

As reported the press service of the regional prosecutor, in December 2011 in the village Dvoriki, Kuznetskiy District Andrey Razin had an argument with Vladimir Kupriyanov. The latter swung his ax at Andrey Razin, who in his turn stabbed the offender with a knife at least two times in the neck, and six times in the chest, which caused death of the offender.

“After the murder, in order to destroy traces of the crime Andrey Razin set the house of Vladimir Kupriyanov on fire with his corpse in it. When questioned at the hearing, the defendant explained that it was self-defense. Andrey Razin did not admit the guilt of arson, claiming that the house burned down due to a faulty stove, and asked the court to acquit him,” reported in the prosecutor’s office.

For the cumulative crime Andrey Razin was sentenced to 2 years 8 months of imprisonment in a penal colony.
