Penza, 4 July 2012. PenzaNews. A 55-year-old woman, pedestrian, died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident which occurred in Oktyabrskaya Street in Treskino village of the Gorodishchensky district of the Penza region on Tuesday evening, July 3.

“A pensioner was struck and killed by an unidentified car the driver of which left the scene,” clarified the inspector of promotion of road traffic safety of the regional department of the Traffic Police Marina Antipova.

According to her, the offender, who left the scene of the accident, was arrested during operational activities.

“He was a 26-year-old local resident. He hit the pensioner driving VAZ-2106 car,” Marina Antipova said.

“The suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime,” she concluded.
