Kamenka, 20 July 2012. PenzaNews. Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office of Kamenska has supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident, who worked as a chairman of the election committee in one of the polling stations during the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.

“The man found guilty of peculation of funds entrusted to him, dedicated to the work of election committee,” explained Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova.

According to her, the accused was entrusted 35,800 rubles to provide the appropriate activity of the committee and remuneration of members of the committee.

“The accused peculated 2,317 rubles,” added the agency interlocutor.

Yuliya Makarova reported that the chairman of the committee was found guilty of an offense under Part 3, Art. 160 of the Criminal Code “Stealing state property entrusted to the perpetrator, using their official position.” The court sentenced to him to one year of imprisonment, suspended sentence with probation for one year.

“The damage caused by the accused was refunded by the accused in full,” summarized Yuliya Makarova.

The verdict has not come into force yet.
