More than 900 violations of social rights revealed in Penza region

Penza, 31 July 2012. PenzaNews. The prosecutor’s office of the Penza region has identified more than 900 violations of social rights in the first half of 2012.

“For the benefit of citizens who work and live in rural areas, statements of claim were filed for the recovery of arrears of monetary compensation for reimbursement of rent and utilities. For the benefit of citizens belonging to the “Labour Veteran” category, the statements of claim were filed for recognizing the right to receive social support measures for the payment of utility bills,” specified Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova.

She also said that the prosecution had identified cases of illigal refusal of local authorities to register the veterans of the Great Patriotic War as in need of better housing conditions and to provide comfortable accommodation for orphans.

In health care, prosecutors identified more than 234 violations. In defense of rights of citizens, 44 applications were sent by prosecutors to the courts,” she said.

Yuliya Makarova added that the typical violations in this area include breaches of the rules of appointment and discharge of drugs, failure to provide medication and the fact that citizens buy at their own expense some medicines included in the program of providing free medical care in the Penza region.
