Penza, 3 August 2012. PenzaNews. Authorized officer of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Penza, a senior police lieutenant was dismissed for the loss of investigation materials of the case of the violent theft of cash and a cell phone.

“To avoid responsibility for the loss, he falsified the investigation materials, excluding from them information about the use of violence, and knowingly provided false information that the victim obtained the injuries in the result of the fall. A few days later, he made an illegal resolution declining excitation of criminal proceedings, concealing a serious crime,” reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region.

According to the authorities, the direct supervisor of the officer was downgraded.

“On August 2, 2012 a criminal case against a former police officer was instituted on the grounds of an offense under Part 1, Art. 285 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of official power,” added the press service.
