Criminal investigation against Marat Faizov completed in Penza

Penza, 10 August 2012. PenzaNews. Investigation Department of Investigation Committee of Russia for the Penza region completed criminal investigation against Former Deputy Prime Minister of the Penza region – Minister of Agriculture Marat Faizov, accused for bribery.

“At present, the accused started familiarization with materials of the case,” Aleksey Shatsky, Senior Assistant to the Head of the Department, told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He explained that, in accordance with item “c” part 5 Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation, in case of conviction, Former Deputy Prime Minister of the Penza region could face a fine of up to 90-fold the amount of the bribe or imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with disqualification to hold certain posts or practice certain activities for up to three years and with a fine of 60-fold the amount of the bribe.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, Marat Faizov was arrested red-handed by officials of the regional offices of Federal Security Service of Russia and Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on March 20, 2012.

According to the investigators, Marat Faizov received 200 thousand rubles bribe from the head of the company being in a car on a road “Saratov — Nizhny Novgorod” near Kolyshleyka of the Penza region.

On March 24, Marat Faizov was put into custody as a measure of restraint.
