Penza, 20 August 2012. PenzaNews. 95 gaming machines, seized by the police year to date from surreptitious clubs, were destroyed in Penza.

“This is the first destruction of slot machines in the city, because so far all the seized equipment was stored in the warehouse. The fact is that after the confiscation, bailiffs send it to the Federal Property Management Agency of the Penza region and after this, the Commission decides if it should be destroyed. All these procedures take a long time, thus hundreds of seized gaming machines are stored for years. The police is responsible for the safety of the property and has to provide staff for its protection,” said the press service of the Office of Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Penza region.

The press service added that another 60 slot machines would be destroyed in the near future.

“Since the beginning of 2012, 950 units of play equipment were seized from illegal gambling clubs. After the disposal, these products will be sent to steel mills to be melted and further used for production of different items,” said the press service.

Since 2012, police officers together with prosecutors have disrupted 35 illegal gambling clubs.

There have been revealed two crimes related to the organization of gambling, and complied 48 reports on administrative offenses.
