Penza, 28 August 2012. PenzaNews. A 47-year-old resident of Luninsky area of the Penza region, who was delivered in the Interior Ministry department by police officers for appearing in a public place while intoxicated, died suddenly in a room for detainees.

“The man, who abused alcohol, was taken to police control room of Interior Ministry of Defense Office “Luninsky” where the reports on administrative offence and administrative detention were filed against him. Then the man was placed in a detention room. The detainee did not complain of feeling unwell, however, after a while the man suddenly felt ill. Officers on duty called the ambulance. The doctors pronounced him dead presumably of acute heart failure,” explained the press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region.

According to the ministry, the service check is being conducted.

“If the actions of the officers are considered improper, these employees will be dismissed from the Interior Ministry, and the head of “Luninsky” office will be subject to strict disciplinary action,” the press service emphasized.
