Penza resident convicted of illegal sales of weapons’ components

Penza, 29 August 2012. PenzaNews. Oktyabr District Court of Penza passed a guilty verdict against a local resident involved in the illicit trafficking of the main parts and components for automatic weapons.

“According to the Federal Security Service Directorate in the Penza region, the man maintained contacts with citizens of one of the CIS countries via the Internet and got from them main parts for the various versions of Kalashnikov assault rifles, Mosin rifles and Tokarev pistols for resale in Russia,” said the press service of the regional department of Federal Security Service of Russia.

Small arms’ parts were delivered to the relatives of the criminal with unreliable declaration of international mail.

“Then the man placed an advertisement to sell these workable pieces of small arms received from abroad under the guise of dummies on popular Russian sites about weapons. Delivery in other regions of Russia was carried out by mail,” the press service explained.

Officers of the Federal Security Service in the Penza region arrested the man on 13 December 2011. The court sentenced the resident of Penza involved in illicit arms trafficking to 1 year 6 months of imprisonment. The sentence came into force.
