Human rights activist Yuri Voblikov released from police department

Penza, 31 August 2012. PenzaNews. Human rights activist Yuri Voblikov detained by the police at the administration building of Penza during a one-man-protest action against the current rates of housing and communal services, was released from the police department.

According to the human rights activists, he was taken to Penza police department No. 1 in Moskovskaya St, 72 at about 13.45, and released only at 16.55.
“Law enforcement officers have assured that my detention lasted less than three hours,” informed Yuri Voblikov.
Interlocutor of the agency added that he demanded for an official paper of location, time and reason for his arrest, but was denied.
According to Yuri Voblikov, his detention was unlawful.
“I have already turned to the prosecutor’s office of the Penza region on this matter,” he said.
