Bank card fraudsters stole over 48 thousand rubles from Penza region residents

Penza, 4 September 2012. PenzaNews. Two similar cases of bank card fraud were registered in the Penza region on Monday, September 3.

“The first case occurred in Oktyabrsky district of Penza. A woman received a text-message on her cell phone telling that her bank card was locked. An hour later, she called the phone number stated in the text-message, and using the instructions of a stranger, transferred 28,963 rubles to a different account via ATM,” reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region.

In the second case, a resident of Luninsky district, following the same route, transferred 20 thousand rubles to the indicated number.

“After realizing that they were deceived, the women called the police. The cases are investigated,” explained the press service.
