Former mobile company employee accused of violating privacy of correspondence

Penza, 5 September 2012. PenzaNews. The Investigative Department of Penza completed the investigation of the criminal case against a 23-year-old mobile company employee accused of committing crimes under part 2, Art. 138 of the Criminal Code “Violation of privacy of correspondence, telephone conversations, postal, telegraph and other messages.”
“According to the investigation, the employee, being warned of responsibility for the disclosure of personal data, was accessing confidential information of the customer, namely looking through the detail of calls, dates, time and duration, from January to July 2012,” reported the Senior Assistant to the Head of the Investigative Department in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina.
She explained that, the defendant claimed the necessity to find out whether her friend continued communication with his ex-girlfriend.
“Currently, the criminal case with the confirmed indictment has been sent to the court. Part 2, Art. 138 of the Criminal Code provides 3 to 4 years of imprisonment,” she said.
