Penza, 19 September 2012. PenzaNews. Criminal investigation into the car accident resulting in the death of a man and involving a well-known businessman Oleg Totsky was initiated by the Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region.

“The criminal case was opened under part 3 Art. 264 of the Criminal Code “Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles.” The maximum penalty can be up to 5 years in prison,” said Deputy Head of the Specialized Department on investigation of road traffic crime of the Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region Vladimir Kharkov.

He reminded that as a result of the accident that occurred on Friday, September 14, Oleg Totsky performing a U-turn on a Lincoln car collided with Suzuki-250 motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, born 1991, died at the scene, and the passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries of varying severity.

“Oleg Totsky was driving himself, he was not injured. The child in the car was not injured either. Motorcycle passenger is in a coma, in intensive care at City Clinical Hospital named after G.A. Zakharyin,” Vladimir Kharkov said.

Oleg Totsky has not yet commented the information about the incident.

“I am now in the hospital and I cannot talk about anything,” the businessman told news agency PenzaNews on the phone on Wednesday morning, September 19.

On Monday, September 17, the Election Commission of the Penza region took the decision to exclude the businessman and public figure nominated by the regional office of United Russia Oleg Totsky from the list of candidates for the Legislative Assembly of the fifth convocation of the Penza region.

Oleg Totsky was born on 23 February 1958 in Penza.

In 1980, he graduated from Penza Civil Engineering Institute and became qualified civil engineer.

After graduation he was assigned to work as a civil engineer in the city of Mozhaisk, the Moscow region.

In 1982 he returned to Penza, where he joined the Agrodorstroy Trust. He worked as a senior engineer of industrial engineering department, then as a chief engineer of column convoy of the trust and a head of the site for concrete elements production.

In 1986–1990, he served in the Soviet troops in Mongolia. He worked as an engineer, deputy chief of the department of labor and wages of financial service, head of water and sewage utilities of the construction division in Ulan Bator.

In 1991–1993, he was a head of production and processing equipment at Road Department of the Penza region.

Since 1993, he is a private entrepreneur.

Since 2002, Oleg Totsky is General Director of LLC Okolitsa.

Since 2006, he is the head of the shops of organic food Planet Earth.

Married with two sons and two daughters.
