Penza, 26 September 2012. PenzaNews. Two traffic police department inspectors of intermunicipal division “Luninsky” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are convicted of a crime under Art. 290 of the Criminal Code “Bribe taking.”

According to the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina, on 31 July 2012 the traffic policemen stopped a car “Opel Antara” for overtaking on the oncoming traffic lane. They demanded three thousand rubles for not filing the case. The policemen were detained after receiving the money — 129 thousand rubles and 126 thousand rubles is the fine they are to pay according to the sentence of the court.

“In addition, they are deprived of the right to hold positions related to the implementation of the functions of the authority or to perform organizational and administrative functions in law enforcement for a period of eighteen months,” pointed out the agency interlocutor.
